A young Marine, Joel McCleavy, just 18, is captured outside a secret facility he was sent to observe in Qatar. HIs capture is a set-up, a way to test his ability to withstand torture. The Marine looks like the high school kid he was six months ago, but he's tough – or at least he thinks he is. Another young man, under the direction of a senior officer, rips Joel's shirt off, accuses him of being a spy and shows him a table covered with whips and other tools of torture. I am not a spy! I'm a U.S. Marine, and we are trained to resist torture! Joel screams, bolted against a wall, trembling in fear and anger. We'll see.
